The IYC Youth Sailing Program introduces young participants to the fun of sailing and an appreciation for Tomales Bay. The young sailors develop confidence in boat handling and basic water safety skills. Sportsmanship and a respect for each other and the environment are encouraged. Although the focus is on learning through fun activities, for those that are interested it is an opportunity to develop racing skills.
The program is organized through the efforts of the IYC Youth Sailing Committee and run by a group of enthusiastic qualified instructors who are experienced sailors. The 2009 sessions will continue a long standing tradition that has produced some of the Club’s top sailors.
2009 REGISTRATION DEADLINES FOR IYC YOUTH SAILING
Applications will be accepted from Members starting Monday, February 9th, 2009. No Member applications postmarked prior to February 9th will be accepted. Children and grandchildren of IYC members will have priority over Non-Members until Sunday, March 8th. Applications will be accepted from Non-Members starting Monday, March 9th 2009. No applications from Non-Members postmarked prior to March 9th will be accepted.
